1.1 WasserfilterMaximum protection and the highest standards of hygiene in the drinking water system

National water treatment plants and water companies provide perfectly clean, safe drinking water. Often, however, sand and other particles, like sealant and metal shavings, can enter the pipe system during work on repairs, renovations and new connections to the supply network, and end up in your domestic water supply. The concentration of contaminants in untreated water, from a well or source for example, may also be higher, particularly in bad weather. Foreign particles in the water often result in dripping taps, clogged outflow meshes and faulty valves in household appliances, all of which pose increased health risks. They can even lead to pitting and broken pipes that then require costly remedial work.

Drinking water filters prevent foreign particles and impurities from entering domestic pipes and attacking the system. It is therefore obligatory to install a filter in accordance with the relevant standard. Protect your pipe system effectively with a BWT drinking water filter.

BWT filters: your guarantee of safe water

While a filter provides safe water, this is only half the battle because, in practice, filters must be regularly maintained to maintain a high level of hygiene in your drinking water, so installing a low-maintenance BWT filter makes good sense. BWT filters provide a continuous supply of clean water, a clean filtration surface area and ensure that your drinking water system operates hygienically.

A BWT filter prevents:

  • Foreign particles and impurities entering the water
  • Dripping domestic taps
  • Clogged outlet meshes
  • Faulty valves
  • Broken and pitted pipes

Filter types for any application

BWT has developed its expertise over many years and can offer an extensive portfolio of filtration products specifically designed for a wide variety of needs. We would be happy to design the optimum solution for any special application you may have!

  • Replacement filter: this type of filter is used for water with low levels of contaminants. The filter elements must be changed at least every 6 months to maintain a high level of hygiene.
  • Backwash filter: contaminants are removed from the filter element by a backwashing process carried out manually or automatically, and should take place at least every 6 months.
  • Special filters: for special applications, i.e. where the water contains high levels of pollutants such as nitrates, iron or heavy metals.
